This means you are with your own personal instructor.  There are no peripheral and outside distractions which can slow down your learning speed.  Most martial arts school provide only group instruction, and this can prove unsettling  or even embarrassing in many instances – especially with a new student, not so at Excel Martial Arts!  You can learn as fast or as slow as you want to in our quiet and relaxed atmosphere.  No big group classes with boisterous children running around!  Private lessons are by far the most effective way to learn, and with our individually-tailored programs, many students progress three to seven times faster than they would by just taking group instruction alone.

How do we compare with other schools?

Some other martial arts schools do teach private lessons, but more often than not, this is on a special or limited basis.  The cost factor of lessons at many of those schools would make it prohibitive for the average person to take private instruction for any length of time.  In some cases, the cost could exceed $100 just for a one-hour session with a Black Belt Master or high-ranking instructor – assuming, of course, you could even get a high-level person to teach you.  Many Masters these days are “too busy” to spend personal time with beginner or intermediate students. With us, you will never have that problem.  Every student at Excel takes private lessons, regardless of rank or experience! And the cost here is basically the same or a little more than the average karate school which teaches only group classes.  Also, you pay as you go. No contracts!

Another trait of many martial arts schools is the emphasis on size and volume, in essence “the bigger, the better”  type attitude.  While some people don’t mind or even enjoy crowd-style learning environments, most others do not and feel alienated and put-off.
